LOVEwork

Dear Tourism Partners,

The high travel season is ramping up, and hopefully you are experiencing an influx of visitation to your corner of Virginia. According to our research team here at VTC, Virginia is recovering even faster than many of our direct competitors. I was struck the other day by how alive our office seems to be again, with folks standing in doorways chatting or clustering in large groups for lunch on the patio.

While the pandemic may be behind us, at least in our minds, its effects are here to stay. Air travel is arduous, passports and visas are delayed, inflation is still high, and fears of recession linger. But for now employment in tourism is strong, pent-up demand for travel is yet to be satisfied, and there is money and memories to be made in tourism. We at VTC are so proud of our state (e.g. see My Home Virginia below), and the hospitality and authenticity of her people is inspiring. Let’s keep it going!

As always, your #1 VTC resource is here: www.vatc.org.
